About me

Interior designer . Furniture designer . Artist

Allow me to introduce myself briefly: I am Xenia, a 26-year-old with a passion for interior design. In 2019, I started my second bachelor's degree in interior design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent.

My chosen specialization is furniture and design. While the core of the interior design course is centered around the art of design, my focus within furniture and design leans more towards the traditional methods of crafting and shaping objects. This resonated deeply with me due to my artistic background, which kindled a desire to create tangible things with my hands, as opposed to spending most of my time behind a computer screen. I yearned for the artistic and artisanal aspects of creation, something that was often missing in the digital-centric world of interior design.

What truly captivates me is the entire design process, particularly when it culminates in tangible results. It's a journey that starts with inspiration, moves through initial sketches, prototype development, material selection, and ultimately leads back to the traditional methods of design, or often a harmonious blend of both digital and traditional approaches.

Through my work, I aspire to bring to life unique projects that weave captivating narratives, emphasizing themes of freedom, diversity, and openness. By exploring various realms of art, craftsmanship, design, and interior design, I endeavor to bridge the gap between these domains, creating a harmonious intersection where art and design converge a common thread that runs through my work.
